Tom Cartmill : Patrons and Donors: Reading's Art...and how it got here

Reading Museum

This interesting exhibition showcases a selection of art, demonstrating the diverse ways, throughout it's history, that the Museum has acquired it's impressive, wide-ranging collection of art. Reading Foundation for Art purchased 2 of Tom Cartmill's works in 2008 for the Museum's Permanent Collection. The Museum has selected one of the two pieces for this show. There is also a video installed in the exhibition, about the work & history of Reading Foundation for Art, which has a section where Tom's other work is shown and discussed in some detail. Other works include paintings by Albert Irvin, John Piper, Stanley Spencer, David Bomberg and Paul Nash.
